Help with Comb-Over Haircut

I have been wanting a comb-over haircut such as those commonly seen in old German WWII photos for a while now. I was gonna post a picture of my somewhat ideal haircut but as I am new to this site I cannot post links. I was wondering how exactly I should go about getting a cut such as this. I do need it to be about an inch or less on the top however, and I can't have my hair touch my ears or collar which luckily goes good with the aforementioned style. So, I was wondering if a haircut such as this could work under those given specifications and how I should go about getting it. I'm new to this forum and the haircut world in general so do try to explain in layman's terms please. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!
