The Official Site for Men’s Hair, Shaving and Male Grooming

Welcome to the Men’s Hair Forum! We are the internet’s authority on men’s hair, ranging from men’s hairstyles all the way to shaving and even body hair. In fact, anything that has to do with the filament-like stuff that covers and grows from your skin, we’ve got it covered.

Our website incorporates our famous Men’s Hair and Shaving board as well as our Male Grooming blog. The ethos of this site is to maintain an interactive community where men can talk about their hair without feeling like their testosterone levels are being replaced with estrogen.

Men’s hair

Most guys believe that styling their hair is the only thing that there is to their hair. Not only is this type of thinking wrong but it also is the reason why most guys can’t get their hair looking great despite buying the latest and most expensive products (you don’t even need to buy the most expensive products to have great hair, for the record).

Other than styling your hair, you need to know the basics of hair care and hair grooming. We actually follow and teach the “hair-management equation” system, which is a series of methods and system pioneered by hair expert Rogelio Samson and which considers hair grooming and hair care as essential parts to overall hair aesthetics.

Among the many men’s hair guides in our forum covering hair care and grooming, you can start with our shampoo and conditioner guide to get a sense of what you should be doing when it comes to preparing your hair for styling.

Men’s hairstyles and haircuts

Only once you have gotten yourself a solid hair care foundation, will then your hair look great with the many men’s hairstyles and haircuts available to men of all ages and hair types. And we say “hair type” because you will want to know what your hair type is with our hair type guide in order to choose the best hairstyles for your particular hair type. Don’t worry, we have covered dozens and dozens of hairstyles and haircuts for men and for all kinds of hair types; you’ll be able to find quite a few styles and cuts that suit you regardless of your specific hair type or face shape.

Here in our site, you will be finding guides for trendy hairstyles such as the Undercut hairstyle and you will also find guides for classic hairstyles like the slicked back hair style. You will also find a guide on all the types of buzz cuts for men as well as an inspirational thread containing huge amounts of men’s hairstyle pictures! Seriously, there is so much to read and see that you should simply start at our forum section on men’s hairstyles and haircuts and start browsing the many styles and cuts that we have covered over time.

Hair loss

Your hair will fall off at one point. As a male, your body produces an androgen hormone called dihydrotestosterone and this hormone is a killer of hair follicles. There’s obviously much more to it than just labeling dihydrotestosterone as a “follicle killer” and that’s why we also have a forum section on male hair loss to talk about male pattern baldness, hair loss medications such as Rogaine and Propecia, other types of alopecia such as traction alopecia and help other forum members with their questions and problems.

In our hair loss section, we also like to, every once in a while, post a male celebrity who is beginning to go bald and break the news of his balding before anyone notices it. Some of the male celebrities whom we spotted going bald before anyone else online or offline noticed it include Rafa Nadal, Harry Styles and Joaquin Phoenix. The main goal of examining the hair of some of the most popular celebrities is to highlight to everyone how easy it is to lose your hair without even noticing it and how male pattern baldness can hit you at any age and regardless of how thick or dense you may think your hair is. And, in case that you weren’t aware about it, you should be monitoring your hairline and vertex area every 6 months if you’re over the age of 18; that’s if you actually care about going bald and catching it in its early stage.

Men’s hair products and product reviews

These days, the range of men’s hair products is more varied than ever. Not only the classic hair products like pomade or hair gel continue to sell well but men are also venturing into new hair products and hairstyling tools. As a matter of fact, we have plenty of forum members who get to see the light of what proper use of hair products and tools can do to one’s hair.

We have many threads on men’s hair products, and we encourage you to first start start your reading with our threads on recommended hair products for men, best hair clippers and top hair dryers. Use the search function or simply browse the men’s hair products section to learn and ask about whatever you want concerning hair products. Reviewing products that you’ve used yourself is welcomed in this forum section too.

We do also have a forum section on men’s hair product reviews. This forum section is where hair product reviews are posted by our staff members, hence the reviews come from highly-knowledgeable guys whose opinion can be trusted.

Straight hair and Curly hair

If you’ve already read our hair type guide, you will know that men’s hair can actually be divided into two textures: straight and curly. That’s why we have devoted exclusive forum sections to each men’s hair texture: our straight hair section and our curly hair section.

The hairstyles suitable for curly hair and straight hair are different, hence the need to be specific with your hair type and preference for the different styling options available. Furthermore, hair care and hair grooming are different (to a degree) between straight hair and curly hair, so not only do you have to narrow down your selection of hairstyles to your hair type but you also need to customize your hair care and grooming based on whether your hair is straight or curly.

Long hair

Growing hair long can be a very challenging and fulfilling journey. You need to master your hair care with long hair and you need to be willing to wait months or even years until your hair starts to look good on its own (instead of your hair being a puffy rat’s nest). Our forum section for long hair men includes lots of hair care information, pictures and advice on how to grow hair long and keep it looking the way you want it to look.

Natural hair

At our forum, we are pioneering the natural approach to men’s hair. Natural hair is hair that is looked after and styled with natural products that have been minimally processed and that lack the common artificial ingredients of today’s hair products. Natural ingredients such as aloe vera, shea butter and extra virgin olive oil are great for men’s hair, and our section on natural hair for men has the answers for all your questions on this less-popular (but highly-effective) hair care approach. And if there isn’t an answer already for your particular question, you’re always welcomed to ask it!

Facial hair

Facial hair is the hair from the beard area, mustache area, eyebrow area and nose area. Facial hair is different to scalp hair (i.e. the hair growing on your scalp), so the grooming and care for your beard, mustache and even eyebrow hair differs from that of your scalp hair.

Since facial hair can be grown relatively long, you can choose a beard style to grow your hair into; most of the beard styles require the use of a good beard trimmer or shaving razor, although they (beard styles) are easy to maintain, which is why more and more men are choosing facial hair styles rather than opting for the classic clean-shaven look.

Our facial hair forum section covers beard styles as well as beard care and growing your beard and/or mustache. And yes, we even have a dedicated forum thread to the hipster beard.

Shaving

We regard shaving as an art, as one can deviate from the rules and customize his own approach to shaving. A male can follow the traditional method of wet shaving whereby a manual razor and shaving soap is used, or he can follow the modern dry shaving method that includes the use of an electric shaver or electric razor.

Each shaving method has its pros and cons as well as its followers and detractors, hence our section on the art of shaving is where all shaving discussions take place and where you can find plenty of advice on shaving as well as ask your own questions.

Shaving products and facial hair trimming products

Just like with the above men’s hair products forum section, we too have our own shaving and hair trimming products forum section. In this section, you will find plenty of electric shaver reviews, razor reviews and shaving cream reviews.

It’s important to highlight that, unlike with scalp hair, you should always try to buy high-quality shaving products where possible. Shaving products will irritate your face to some extent and this extent can actually get quite bad with poor products. It’s always best to spend a couple more bucks on a good electric shaver or manual razor than save those bucks and get a low-grade shaving product.

Body hair

As recent as 20 years ago, it was rare for men to shave and groom their body hair, unless they were athletes. These days, however, more men are choosing to shave or trim their body hair for commodity, aesthetics and even physical performance. The trend has extended so much among worldwide males that it has a name of its own: manscaping.

In our forum section dedicated to male body hair, we discuss manscaping as far as the limits of manliness allow. Manscaping is still somewhat of a taboo topic and frowned upon by some old-school sectors of society, but you can make yourself at home in this forum section (and the rest of our forum sections!) and discuss whatever is on your mind.

Male celebrities

Sure, every once in a while we like to break the news of the latest male celebrity starting to go bald, but we do actually spend most of the time discussing the latest and coolest (and not-so-cool) hairstyles and haircuts of male celebrities. We have a massive amount of forum threads dedicated to the hairstyles and haircuts of guys like Cristiano Ronaldo, Brad Pitt, Gareth Bale, Zayn Malik and even Ragnar Lothbrok!

Just like with celebrity hairstyles and haircuts, we also have a forum section on facial hair styles of male celebrities. From King Leonidas’ beard played by Gerard Butler in 300 to the horseshoe mustache of Sean Connery in Zardoz, you will find plenty of facial hair inspiration to grow your mustache or beard like a Sir.

The best website for your hair

First and foremost, this is an interactive website where everyone can ask, answer, discuss or post anything that is related to men’s hair. Aside from providing a welcoming place for you to make the most of your filament-like assets, we have also ensured to publish plenty of guides and articles on men’s hair and shaving so that you can acquire plenty of knowledge from some of the best hair professionals on the internet. So, really, you’re right now in the best place you could be for your hair.

With all that said, welcome to the Men’s Hair Forum!
