Change of Haircut?

So i was wondering , I currently have long straight hair , No style its always just messy and i want to get it changed , Any ideas i want something quite short / Maybe medium length and something easy / simple.

Have you checked the 2014 trends thread?
For me, the Undercut is the more versatile one and it's trendy. You can slick it back, brush it up, make it messy, etc... You can always leave a bit more hair on the sides and back if you feel like it.

Not sure i would like that , Like i said ive had the same haircut for ages and would rather go for something simple then first then maybe look at others , I tried to get a short back and side , Long on top as i think its simple and quite nice but im not sure what length to get it cut or what to ask for etc.

What to you want to do on top? Spike/brush it up? Swept it to the side?
Just for reference, my sides and back were clipped with a #3 in the (old) photo below and the top was scissored with a two fingers' length. You decide if you want longer or shorter than that.



Please keep in mind that my hair is wavy so it might look fuller than yours.

Ah sorry haha , Im not sure what i would want to do with the top (But im thinking you can try out many hairstyles with the Short back and sides haircut with long on top haircut?) , If so i could just try out a few and see what i prefer.

Jonny, when you post an image, make sure to embed it properly. Simply right click on the image on the page you had it, choose "copy image URL" and then put the image URL here by clicking on the "insert image" button on the menu above the text editor (it's a square with a mountain and the sun).

I don't know, I'm not a barber. xD
The sides of the first photo look like a #3 or #4 (better ask for the latter because you can then decide if you want the #3 instead) and the top was scissored...
Just show them the pictures and they'll know what to do (assuming they're good haha!) =P

PS: That first pic was one of the examples I mentioned on my very first post.

Ah right ok , Thought you meant it was one of the examples , But yeah thanks , I think i prefer the second one anyway so ill try and get something similar whenever can i get time to get it cut.
