new here advice needed

What's up everyone,

I've had the faux hawk look for a couple years now since that's all my hair wanted to do but now i've decided to grow my hair out to medium length. (i'm wanting to have that david beckham h&m haircut look)

I have that asian hair meaning when it grows my hair sticks out and is very thick.

Any tips like how i should tell my barber to cut it or if i shouldn't get it cut at all?

Any advice would be appreciated.
