Help defining curls in Coiled/Kinky Hair

Alright so I wanted to start curlying my hair for the next school year so I started watching curly hair routines on youtube for coiled/kinky hair and after a days worth I bought some products and tried it myself. The products I used and the process I used was:
1)Small amount of water ran through hair
2)Shampoo with Shea Moisture and Rinse Out
3)Applied Shea Mositure Curl and Shine Conditioenr
4)Let it sit for 3 minutes then wash out
5)After Washing I then Applied Eco Styler Gel

Some questions I would also liked to be answered would be:
A: wtf hair type is this? 4a,4c,3a, etc
B: What can I do to enhance and define my curls?
