Bun problem!

Bun problem!

So I decided to grow a bun with short sides. My hair at the top is about 3 inches. Here's the problem my barber cut my hair higher than I expected and it doesn't look as I wanted to and as it should be to make an undercut bun hairstyle. So here's my question what do you suggest, should I just wait for it to grow back even if it will be shorter for a long than the rest or should I cut them all and start from the beginning?
