Advice on determining hair loss

Hello, new to the forums, was recently told by family that it looks like I was losing hair, so been reading up on the subject and started to incorporate some tips. For example, dont towel dry right away or comb hair once out of shower, don't wash hair every time, argan oil (sp?), use products less.

Reason I am on here is, ironically I finally wanted to attempt and let my hair grow out, but obviously it would not be a good look if I attempt to. Now I can post pictures but what are the best angles I should take?

Currently my hair is decent length so I am curious as to what the forums have to think about the situation, I could be over thinking it?

I am not certain I can post pics at the moment so advice me on how I should go about this.
