Tips for the modern messy pompadour
Hey this is my first time posting on this website, so if I'm doing something wrong then please tell me.

But yeah a little facts about the type of hair i have, the product I am currently using, and the problem i am having . I have fine thin asian hair. The top is about 4-6 inches long (around there), and the sides are cut rather short. I am currently using a Gatsby matte product, and I am also using a tigi catwalk hairspray for a finishing hold. When I style my hair, I alway damp it first, apply mousse onto my hair, and then blow dry it in order to get more volume; however, whenever I style it, it always ends up looking something like this: https ://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/78/bf/0e/78bf0ebbe0b059da3ea6ea393282386b. jpg although I want something more messy like this: http ://menshairstylesclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Pompadour-for-Boys. jpg.

Okay so my questions are, am I using the right products? Also, how should I get my hair cut (I'm going into the salon tomorrow)? Should the top be 3 inches long? Or 3 and a half inches long? And most importantly, is there anything 'specific' I should tell my hairstylist to do when I go in to get my haircut? I have fine thin asian hair so the length of the top may matter right?

Thanks for taking the time to read this, hope to get some feedback soon.
