Confused about reducing roundness in face?
I was doing a lot of reading for hairstyles for face shapes, but I find myself more confused. Ideally, I'd like to have long hair. My face is squarish and roundish.
When doing research, I get very differing information. For example, they say that men with round faces... this is what i got:

a. round faces should go for short haircuts, keeping sides short.

I can agree with keeping bangs short so your face doesn't look shorter and hence wider, but keeping the sides short I disagree. My reasoning is that I've noticed my cheeks look wider when my head is shaved. The roundness is more emphasized.

Then there is this opposite tip:
b. Long hair can actually thin your face, if it is long and poofy on the side.
This i can agree, as long as it's not a bobcut.
Ideally, I'd like to have long hair, so I'm not sure what to do.

Then for square faces:
a. Long hair lengths work
b. Long hair lengths don't work.

I would upload pictures, but they aren't accurate since small angle shifts will make my face longer or diamond depending. However, my friend who does makeup usually considers my face to be square. Think of a more roundish brad pitt, with a slightly more narrow forehead.

can anyone give tips on how to reduce roundness with hair cut? Ideally tips for long haired guys, but I'm interested in hearing general tips.
I'm finding regardless of whether my sides are cut or not, the roundness is there Sad

I tried poofing it up like pompadour, it looks round. If i cut it short, i look round also. So confused
